Since introducing EDEXCEL IGCSE examinations in 2004, their popularity with both British-based and overseas families has grown incredibly. It is not difficult to see why. IGCSEs have a number of advantages over traditional GCSEs:
- For our overseas families, it means being able to obtain high quality GCSE-level qualifications without the need to return to the UK to sit exams;
- IGCSEs do not require coursework;
- Internationally recognised 16+ level qualification;
- Growing number of UK examination centres now accepting IGCSE candidates.
Students can sit EDEXCEL IGCSE exams at local centres around the world. It is vital that parents find an examination centre that agrees to allow their son/daughter to sit examinations BEFORE enrolling for courses with NorthStarUK.
IGCSE examinations take place during the first three weeks of May. Since this is before the majority of GCSE examinations, it is possible for UK-based students to study a combination of IGCSE and GCSE subjects.
