The technical stuff
Operating System requirements Since Moodle is web-based, it is operating system independent. You can therefore use Linux, MacOS (10.x) or Windows to work with us. There is no need to install any special software in order to access the NSUK online learning environment. To be able to work with NSUK, you will need the following - COMPUTING REQUIREMENTS Hardware A computer running Linux, Mac OSX, or MS Windows, A minimum screen resolution of 800 x 600, Internet connectivity, A printer, A scanner may be useful but is not essential. Software A word processor capable of saving files in .doc format, (eg MSWord, OpenOffice, Pages), OpenOffice is one of our favourites and it is open source and therefore free! A modern web browser,(NSUK strongly recommends Firefox) Information and Communication Technology students will need to have database software for year 9, IGCSE and A-Level courses. (please contact us for further details.), An email client such as Thunderbird or Outlook Express, Up-to-date anti-virus software (we recomment that your anti-virus software is set to up-date automatically), We recommend the use of a firewall. Each student needs to have their own personal email address You also really do need to have a working knowledge of your computer's operating system and be able to use the Internet.
